Ladean Allen Haws, 91 of Teton, died Friday, February 10, 2017 at her home.
She was born on December 7, 1925 in Teton City, Idaho to Hyrum John and Isabell Lanore Naylor Allen.
She attended Teton Elementary and then school in Rexburg including Madison High School and finished at St. Anthony High School. She married Veldon Tennes Haws on March 15, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple, just prior to Tennes going in to the Service.
Ladean later attended the Glen E. Clark Business College in Idaho Falls with classes for secretarial work. After receiving her Certificate she worked for Harry Lewies in insurance, Dr. Klamp in the medical field and then at the State Youth Training Center and at Ricks College in the library for serials and government documents.
She always loved to work whether at Haroldsen Egg Factory or mowing, bailing or hauling hay and cultivating potatoes with Tennes and his dad. She owned and operated a candy shop, Sugar & Spice, in Rexburg for 11 years.
Ladean was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Primary President and as President of the YWMIA. She helped start the Teton Chapter of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She enjoyed spending time in places like Texas, California and Florida through their Time Share Condo. She enjoyed being a home maker, gardening and loved just being busy doing things with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Paul, Wayne and Ruth. She is survived by her husband, V. Tennes Haws of Teton, ID; sons Larry Dee Haws of Teton, ID; Terry Lee Haws of Cisco, TX; and Craig Haws also of Teton, ID; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Teton LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
