Obituary

Janice LaRee Casper, 78, of Felt, Idaho passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center surrounded by those who love her.

She was born September 22, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to William Earl and Hazel Pauline Walton Brower. She was the youngest of ten children. She grew up in Driggs, Idaho, attending elementary school in the old stone school house through grade 8. In 1954, she graduated from Teton High School where she was active in cheerleading, Thespian's Club, Girl's Glee, yearbook staff, FHA and FTA.

On June 2, 1954, she married the love of her life, Reed Erin Casper, in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year by taking their whole family on a cruise to Mexico over the Christmas holiday. After a honeymoon in Reno, Nevada, the young couple settled into life farming just north of Driggs.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities, including Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women organizations. Her last calling was ward librarian where she served with her husband and daughter Stacy. She so enjoyed that calling. Anyone walking past the library would always receive a friendly face to stop and visit with.

She was a hard worker, always thinking of others as she raised her children and worked on the farm. No job was ever too hard for her, from hauling hay to helping with the cow milking morning and night. In 1972, she and Reed sold the milk cows and bought a farm in Felt, Idaho. They moved the family there and began raising hay, grain and seed potatoes.

She leaves behind a loving husband of 60 years; son Martin Shane Casper; daughters Shelly Mink (Kurt) Daniels and Stacy Rae Casper; six grandchildren, Shaylene (Joe) Peninger, Adam (Sheena) Daniels, Sheena (Brett) Davis, Zachary (Melissa) Daniels, Sara (Tyler) Horrocks, and Jesse (Brianna) Daniels; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Merrill, Richard, Ted, Reid and Lynn Brower; sisters Reta Driggs, Thelma Jones, Ellen Byington and Maxcine Jardine; and a granddaughter, Sabrina Elaine Casper.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, at the Tetonia LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m., both times at the church. Interment will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home of Rexburg.
