Larry Graham Layton, our beloved father, son, brother, and husband returned home to his Heavenly Father January 10, 2011.
Larry was born March 1, 1948 in Portland, Oregon. He served a mission for the LDS Church in London, England. Larry attended Brigham Young University where he met and later married Carolyn Cornell (Chorman) on August 27, 1969 and they were blessed with four children, Brandon, Kristi, Miles, and Kalli.
Larry loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was outgoing and would help anyone. He raced boats, water skied, and rode motorcycles. Larry cheated death in 1977 and continued to live a fruitful and exciting life as a quadriplegic. He loved boating, flying radio controlled airplanes, skydiving, and anything else his sons could drag a wheel chair to.
Larry married Lorraine Hannant July 10, 1997.
Larry was a successful businessman and ran Layton Drapery until he retired in 2002 and moved to Rexburg, Idaho where he served another LDS mission doing genealogy work.
Larry married his longtime friend, Patricia Hinckley on October 16, 2010.
Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Janice Layton. He is survived by his parents, Jack and Eunice Layton, his sister, Karen Stone, his wife, Patricia Hinckley Layton, children, Brandon (Katherine) Layton, Kristi (Nathan) Saydyk, Miles (Ranae) Layton, and Kalli (Chris) Pauken, and 12 grandchildren whom he adored.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Lyman 3rd Ward Rexburg South Stake Center, 2041W 5200 S Rexburg, ID. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N 1st E Rexburg, ID and Friday 2:00-2:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the American Fork, UT Cemetery Saturday January 15 at 1:00 p.m..
