Larry McKenna, 77, of Rexburg Idaho died March 30, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones after a six year struggle with Alzheimers disease.

He was born November 11, 1940 in Hibbard Idaho to Alonzo Graden McKenna and Ethel Norrine Cropus McKenna. He married Karen Janet Shirley. They had two daughters, Jodee Mackay (Wes) and Lynette McKenna. They later divorced. He married Denalee Heiner April 26, 1968. They were later sealed in the Rexburg, Idaho LDS Temple. Together they have three daughters, Nikki Rae McKenna, Krista Lee Pope (Kim), and McKell Voss.

Larry loved and honored his father and mother whom he served and cared for. He especially cherished his wife Denalee, his daughter's, and his grandchildren. Nikki says he was always cheerful, playful, and funny.

Larry worked hard to provide and care for his family. He retired as the human resource director at Basic American Foods where he worked for 36 years. He loved horseback riding and trail riding with life time friends. He enjoyed being outdoors and staying active; continuing to go to the gym after retirement and up to 2 months before his passing.

He is survived by his wife, five daughters, eight grandchildren; Lisa Marie Owens (Andy), Jamie Lyn Hunt (Jeremy), Eric Roger Mackay, Benjamin Robert Lawson, Kaytlin McKell Lawson, Addison Jade Voss, Kendra Jaylynn Pope, and Aiden Ray Voss, five great grandchildren; Gage Royston Yeo, Jayden Daniel Hunt, Morgan Riley Hunt, Sydnee Nafanua Owens, and Ronin To'o Owens, and his sisters; Jeanne Ringel(Jan) and Maureen Day (Walt).

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4th at the Rexburg South Stake Center,2041 W. 5200 S. Rexburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and again Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
