Our beautiful Laurie left this world February 4, 2017 after battling cancer for 6 months and 3 days. Laurie Dawn Jenkins was born to Keith and Laurel Jenkins June 18, 1967 in Blackfoot, ID. Laurie married David Gillies April 9, 1994. Together they have five children, Lindsay (Ray Jacobs) Stiehl, Federal Way, WA, Evan (Arielle) Gillies, Boise, ID, Hailey (Michael) Tom Payson, UT, Nolan Gillies, Boise, ID, and Connor Gillies, Teton, ID.
Laurie graduated from Alta High School in SLC and earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Boise State University. Laurie was a successful software engineer and business woman. She loved the outdoors and spent many hours skiing, riding horses, golfing and archery practice. Laurie was an instant friend to anyone she met. Most of all she was an adoring wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Laurie fought this horrid disease with strength, determination and grace.
Laurie is survived by her devoted husband, David, her five children, her grandchildren, Kayden Stiehl, Brody Jacobs, Remi Jacobs, Zander & Selah Gillies, Talon & Lyla Tom; parents Keith and Debbie Jenkins (Boise) and Fred and Laurel Van Leuven (Pocatello), sisters Nichole Martin (SLC) and Tiffany Passey-Wright (Pocatello), two step brothers, Jimmy and Daryld (SLC), several aunts, uncles, cousins, the entire Gillies-Sartore Clan and many friends.
We love you Laurie; you are always in our hearts.
