Percis LaVoi Burbank Congdon, 102, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2017 at Madison Carriage Cove in Rexburg, Idaho. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken, her siblings, Cecil, Dan, Nona and Lillis, and by her sons Eddie and Reed.

LaVoi is survived by her two daughters Jeanette Powell of Eagle, Idaho, DeAnne Congdon of Teton, Idaho , one son Lee (Pam) Congdon of Tallahassee, Florida, a daughter-in-law Sandra Congdon of Meridian; 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

LaVoi was born May 7, 1915 in Georgetown, Idaho to Lester and Percis Tippits Burbank at the family home and assisted by neighbors. On September 20, 1935 she married Kenneth Edwin Congdon and they were blessed with 62 years, three sons and two daughters.

LaVoi greatly enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning, baking and complaining about the wind. Her greatest love was caring for and nurturing her family. She is famous for her homemade chicken noodle soup and pies that everyone looked forward to on Thanksgiving at her home. LaVoi is a great inspiration to us all and serves well to remind us of a time when love was more about what you could give rather than what you could receive. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Flamm Funeral Home located at 61 North 1st East Rexburg, Idaho. The family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Wilford Cemetery. A dinner will be held immediately after at the Wilford LDS church.
