Lawrence W. Bull was born January 28, 1931 to William Alexander Bull Jr. and Erma Burton. He was the third child of four and their only son. Lawrence graduated from Davis High School. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the Eastern States. He had a great love for his country and he served in the army during the Korean War.
He married Mildred Rae Walker on September 23, 1955. They were blessed with six children that brought much joy to their lives. They were later divorced.
Lawrence obtained a bachelor's degree at U of U and worked as a teacher's assistant for the business education department. He later earned a masters degree in education from Utah State University. He worked for many years teaching business classes to high school students. He was loved by his students.
He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had a firm testimony and love for his Savior Jesus Christ. He spread the joy of the gospel message to others whenever he had the opportunity. This included the time he spent working with inmates in the Mississippi and Texas Prison Systems.
He married Zola Wilding Mckenna on September 16, 2000. They enjoyed laughing and singing together and 21 years of marriage. They served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Carlsbad, California. Lawrence and Zola also spent many years serving as temple workers in the Idaho Fall and Rexburg Temples. We are grateful to Zola for the loving care and support she provided our dad during the last years of his life. The relationship truly brought each of them joy.
Lawrence will forever be known for his wonderful sense of humor and his positive attitude. .He is a great example of enduring adversity, as he always managed to maintain his positive attitude and had sincere gratitude for the service others offered him. He had many musical abilities. His children enjoyed hearing him play the harmonica and the steel guitar. He had a wonderful singing voice and he brightened the residents and caretakers of the Homestead's lives by singing for them. We wish to thank and acknowledge all of those that lovingly cared for dad at the Homestead.
