Lee J. Ward, 70, returned to his Heavenly Father early Monday morning, November 29, 2010, due to medical complications.
He was born, August 19, 1940, in Rexburg, Idaho, son of Ezekiel and Rose Ward. He was a high school graduate of Madison High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and took great pride in his service to his country, which influenced him to become a key member in establishing a charter for the Vietnam Veterans Associates of America in Rexburg, Idaho and some of the surrounding areas. Lee won the Silver Rose Award in the VVA of which he was proud. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War. Lee was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in which he had a profound belief and served in numerous callings.
As a young man he was married to Ethel Breeton and had two children, Lori Ramos, and Karry Ward. They were later divorced. He met and married Chong Camp while serving his country in Korea and had three children, Kim J. Ward, Sara Jean Dorotheo, and Melanie Nguyen. They were later divorced. He then married Marilyn Daisson Ward who had three boys, Ernest Daisson, Steven Daisson and Michael Daisson. After Marilyn past away, Lee was lucky enough to meet his current wife, Judith Ward. He spent the last years of his life happily married to Judith. Judith has a son named Richard Lawson. While Lee was married to Judith, he moved to Fresno California where he deeply enjoyed mild weather, raising koi fish and fruit trees. He was surprised to find that he enjoyed being a Californian and having indoor pets.
He is survived by his above mentioned children, step children, and thirty-nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Deloy and Sonny Ward, and sister, Dixie Nording. He was preceded in death by his parents and third wife, Marilyn. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Rexburg 4th Ward Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 8 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Thursday for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery with military rites by the Madison County Veterans.
