Leila Alice Richards Lewis, 93, formerly of Rexburg died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in Scottsdale Arizona. She was born February 16, 1922 in Moore, Idaho.
She married Rulon Lewis of Rexburg on March 19, 1938.
After having her boys, she graduated from Ricks College and BYU. She earned scholarships for all of her education. She taught school at Madison Jr. High and high schools in Rexburg as well as being a counselor. After Rulons death she moved to Pocatello. Upon obtaining her Master's Degree at ISU she was offered a job with the State Department of Education in Boise and moved there. When she retired she moved to Springville, Utah to be closer to family. Then nineteen years ago she moved to Scottsdale, Arizona.
She was active in educational and political affairs in her adult life.
She is survived by her oldest son Michael (Claudia) of Providence, Utah, daughter-in-law Linda (Bob) Lewis of Springville, Utah and four grandsons, two granddaughters and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rulon, and her sons Robert "Bob" and Evan "Van".
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N 1st E, Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
