Lela Ann Richman Hope, 94, passed away February 17, 2022, in Rexburg, Idaho.

She was born on May 14, 1927, to John Richman and Myrtle Stewart. She was the youngest of 2 siblings, Ruby Siepert and Wane Richman.

She grew up in Rexburg, Idaho and attended school there. She met the love of her life, Grant Hope and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on October 30, 1946.

She and Grant had 4 children, Rand Grant (Joy), Bruce John (Janie), David Rodger (Linda) and Lori Ann (Jim) Muir.

Grant and Ann moved to Monteview in 1953 where they farmed for many years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions including Primary President, Relief Society President, Primary and Ward chorister. She had a great testimony of the gospel and was a wonderful example to her family.

Later, Ann and Grant moved back to Rexburg. In 1996 Grant passed away. Later that year she was called to a mission in Washington D.C. Temple. She loved her mission and talked about it often.

In 1998 she met and married Jim Hancock. They traveled a lot, which was her dream. They were called on two missions, one to Chili and the other to Spain. Both were temple missions.

They made their home in Rexburg, where they spent a lot of time working in the temple

She is preceded in death by her husband, Grant Hope; son, Rand Hope; granddaughter, Tauni Muir; husband, Jim Hancock.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce and David; daughter, Lori; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

We will all miss her fun personality and sweet disposition.

A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2022, in the Rexburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, prior to graveside services.
