Obituary

Lelen D Weekes, 38, of Rexburg, passed away May 10, 2017, at his home.

Lelen was born January 4, 1979, in Rexburg, Idaho, the first son of Rodney D Weekes and Shirley Ann Stoddard Weekes. He grew up and attended school in Sugar City, Idaho and Lima, Montana. He graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 1997.

He married Angelina Matheson in 2001, in Benton, Arkansas. They had two daughters Venice and Valerie. They were later divorced. On April 16, 2016, Lelen married Jessica Sue Huff, and to this union was born a daughter, Audrey.

Lelen was employed in various trades, mostly as a maintenance technician. He was currently working and employed at Melalueca in Rexburg.

Lelen was gifted in working with horses and enjoyed riding them often with his family and two dogs, Sadie and Luke. He was a hard worker, good with his hands, and could fix about anything.
Lelen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed his calling teaching the CTR 5 class. He loved genealogy, reading scriptures, and sharing the Word with others. Lelen was a talented artist, starting at a young age, and often drew portraits and greeting cards and loved sharing them with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Weekes; three daughters, Venice Grace Weekes, Valerie Faith Weekes, and Audrey Camilla Weekes; his parents, Rodney D and Shirley Ann Weekes of Rexburg; his siblings, Kellie Janelle (John) Hope of Rigby, Sharolyn (Eric) Risenmay of Idaho Falls, Landan R (Kylee) Weekes of Idaho Falls, Nicole Marie (Travis) Colson of Atoka, Tennessee; his grandparents DeVar and Gwen Weekes of Salem, Idaho; and 17 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Wyatt Landan Weekes, and grandparents, Jack and Venice Stoddard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, at the Salem LDS Chapel, with Bishop Kevin Lee officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
