Marie Lenore Craven Passey
Marie Lenore Craven Passey, 92, of Rexburg, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Homestead in Rexburg. She was born January 28, 1919 in Eureka, Utah, to Percy and Anna Marie Craven.
After high school she graduated from Ricks College and Brigham Young University. Following college she worked for Bennett Glass Co. in Salt Lake City. She went on to teach school at Midway and worked in the Ricks College Library. She spent several years as a volunteer aide at Lincoln and Kennedy Elementary schools.
She married Blaine Passey on August 1, 1942 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Her passion in life was reading, traveling and visiting with friends and relatives. She served on the Madison Library Board and the Rexburg City Planning Board.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Relief Society teacher and coordinator. She loved doing name extractions for the temple.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Jay) Schelin of Taylor, Arizona, Brooke (Judee) Passey of Rexburg, Idaho, Quinn (Debra) Passey of Kingwood, Texas, and Trent Passey of Kearns, Utah, she is also survived 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a sister and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20th at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
