Leonid "Leo" Pihulevych, 34, passed away suddenly in a tragic car accident on August 16, 2021.
Leo was born November 10, 1986 in Kiev, Ukraine. He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 23, 1998 at the age of 12.
He served a mission to St Petersburg, Russia from 2006 to 2008. There he met Natalia Podkovenko. Leo was a dedicated member of the church and held many responsible callings including Branch President.
Leo and Natalia were later married in Dneper, Ukraine on October 10, 2008. Four days later they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Freiberg, Germany Temple. While living in Ukraine they had two beautiful children, Adam and Mia.
Leo graduated from Kiev National Transport University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2012. The family moved to Rexburg, Idaho in 2016, where he attended BYU-Idaho and majored in accounting. He recently graduated this year in July.
Leo was a hard-working student and employee. He was respected by his instructor and employers. He was about to move with his family to Bakersfield, CA and begin his new career as an accountant.
He is survived by his wife, Natalia; thier son, Adam; daughter, Mia; his parents, Vasyland and Valentyna Pihulevych; sister, Iryna; grandmother, Anthoyna.
Nataila said of Leo, "He loves traveling and cars and never stops learning. He loves to joke and laugh and smile. Dear friend, husband and father and son. So Many people love you and miss you so much. Now you have gone to the other side of the veil to help Heavenly Father with His important work there. You are the very best of men with your pure heart, good example and loyal support You are so full of love and understanding. God will be with you till we meet again."
