Obituary

Leonard L. Browning, 94, devoted husband, father and grandfather, of Sugar City, Idaho passed away August 31, 2015 at his home of natural causes.

He was born June 20, 1921 in St. Anthony, Idaho to George and Phoebe Watts Browning. He grew up at Canyon Creek on the family farm. He attended school in Newdale and Canyon Creek and attended High School in Sugar Salem.

He joined the Navy in 1942 and served in World War II in the Pacific for three years.

He married Venice Mae Poulson on December 7, 1946 in Dillon, Montana. They later divorced but remarried on February 3, 1968 and were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were happily married for 47 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leonard enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Venice Browning of Sugar City, Idaho, and his children, LaMarr (Melissa) Browning of Salem, Idaho, Lenece (Gary) Schroeder of Rigby, Idaho, Patti Browning of Pompano, Florida, Michael (Johnny) Browning of Conner, Montana, Angie (Trent) Wood of Teton, Idaho. He is also survived his step children, Glen (Kathy) Jensen of Rigby, Idaho, Tim (Jackie) Jensen of LaBarge, Wyoming, Rhonda (Vaughn) Munns of Rexburg, Idaho and Paul (Kim) Jensen of Rexburg Idaho. He is survived by 30 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He is survived by three siblings, Ruth Blackburn, Marian Webster and Grover Browning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George, and sisters, Wanda and Emma and 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Sugar City Stake Center with Bishop Bill Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
