LeRoy Hanson,
Born in Driggs, Idaho on May 12, 1924, the youngest of Alma and Maries eight children. Raised in the Teton Valley he helped on the family farm, and excelled in music. He was the lead trumpet player in the band and orchestra.
Out of high school he began working for the Union Pacific Railroad , where he met his lifelong parner of 66 years – Jessie Clarrissa – known to many as Bridge.
He served in the Pacific during WWII before returning to Idaho, and his new wife.
Roy attended classes at Idaho State University while working full time and raising a family of four – Marie, Marsha, Jamie, and Rodney born in 1955, the same year Roy graduated with honors with a degree in economics.
The family grew to none grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. After retiring from the railroad, Roy and Clarrissia moved to Jackson, Wyoming for 20 years, then settled in Sugar City, Idaho for the last 7 years. Roy died at home with his family.
