Obituary

(Joy) LeVonne Moore peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father while at home, September 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She had been under the care of her daughters, granddaughter, and Homestead Home Health & Hospice of Rexburg, Idaho.

LeVonne Garner was born March 30 th , 1939, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Lester James and Neta Wadsworth Garner. She graduated from Madison High School where she met her husband, Frank D. Moore of Hibbard, Idaho. LeVonne and Frank were married in her childhood home in Rexburg and were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with five children, twins, Gary and Marti, Greg, Shauna, and Danny.

Always a hard worker, she did whatever was necessary to make ends meet. She sold Avon, substituted at the elementary school, worked at school lunchrooms, held jobs at Food Center, Pappy's Warehouse, drove truck during potato harvest, learned how to do floral arrangements, and drove school bus. But the job she loved most was being a mom, grandma, great grandma, to her five children, all the grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she was a friend to countless others.

LeVonne absolutely loved music. It was a huge part of her life, and she was always ready to lead whatever choir, good or maybe not so much. She was strong willed but had an amazing capacity for kindness and compassion for people and animals, often strays. She loved to talk and share stories with anyone who had something interesting to say. LeVonne had a great and often weird sense of humor and knew the value of well-timed sarcasm. She did her best to be a positive example for her family, a trustworthy friend to those who knew her, and a force to be reckoned with to anyone who thought her incapable of anything. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her five children: Gary D (Jennie) Moore of Logan, Utah, Marti J. (John) Schliep of Tacoma, Washington, Greg J. (Alice) Moore of St. Anthony, Idaho, Shauna L. (Bryce) Williams of Rexburg, Idaho, and Dan F. (Jessica) Moore of West Des Moines, Iowa. She also had 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, her parents, her sister, and brothers – she was the last one left.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2022, at the old Burton Ward church, 3958 W. 2000 S., Burton, Idaho, with Bishop Troyce Miskin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N. 1 st E., Rexburg; and Friday from 10 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Burton cemetery.
