Lillian Louise Glover Lewies, 81, of Warm River, Idaho passed away Friday, February 22, 2013.
Lillian was born January 28, 1932 in Marysville, Idaho to Joseph Everett and Mary Farnsworth Glover.
She was raised in Marysville where she attended elementary school as well as in Ashton where she graduated from Ashton High School in 1950. She attended Long Beach State College. Later, Lillian completed certification for a degree in naturopathy.
Lillian married Harry Lewies on August 16, 1951. They made their home in St. Anthony and Warm River.
Lillian worked at OP Skaggs, Old Faithful Inn, Warm River Inn, and Pictorial House. During her married life, she was a partner in family businesses - Warm River Inn, Fremont Title and Trust, Bear Gulch Ski Resort, State Farm Insurance, Valley Real Estate, American Land Title, land development, The Ranch House, and Three Rivers Ranch. She served as mayor for the City of Warm River for four terms.
Lillian enjoyed bowling on Targhee Lanes' Monday Morning Coffee League for more than 30 years and served on her high school reunion planning committees. She was a member of the Ashton Chapter of P.E.O. Lillian was also a Cub Scout leader as well as a Primary teacher.
Lillian enjoyed caring for her family, visiting with her sisters and sister-in-law, walking - especially in the forest, reading, skiing, listening to music, dancing, cooking, bowling, shopping, traveling, caring for pets and injured animals, savoring views of the Tetons, Robinson Creek, and the Henry's Fork.
Lillian is survived by her children Julie Lewies of St. Anthony, Lonnie Allen of Warm River, Linda (John Barnett) Lewies of Meridian, and Karl (Judith) Lewies of St. Anthony. By her siblings Regena Brower of Orem, Utah; Kent Glover of Pebble Beach, California; Carol Hughes of South Jordan, Utah; Cherie Alexander of Rancho La Costa, California; and her sister-in-law Lilyan Sanders of South Weber, Utah. By her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - Mary (Lance) Seeley - Austin, Sydnee of Boise; Mitch (Brandi) Allen - Dylan, Lauren, Brooklyn of Minot, North Dakota; Chad J.(Cristina) Allen of Boise; Justin Allen of Ashton, and Kara Lewies of St. Anthony.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara Rymer, her brother Darwin, and her husband Harry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 28 at the St. Anthony Second Ward LDS Church, 145 East 1st North. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery.
