Obituary

Lillian Caroline Roos Robertson, age 89 of Rexburg, Idaho, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 in Rexburg. She was born July 4,1921 in Rexburg to John Joseph and Caroline Klingler Roos. She was raised in Rexburg and graduated from the 8th grade. During World War II she worked in the seed houses. She worked at the Rexall Drugstore and at Evans Café where she met her husband J Orland Robertson. They were married March 25, 1949 at Rexburg and their marriage was later solemnized on June 23, 1965 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. After their marriage they lived in Jackson, Wyoming. In Jackson, she worked in the school lunch program and in retail positions. She loved working with the public. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving in the Primary and Jr. Sunday School. She cooked for hay crew and was a wonderful cook. Her children and grandchildren take after her in that. She also taught her daughters to sew and taught several of her granddaughters to crochet. When Orland retired from ranching, in Jackson, in 1990, they moved back to Rexburg where they grew large gardens until the last few years. She was a 4-H cooking and sewing leader.

Lillian is survived by her children; Carolyn (Norm) Mellor of Jackson, WY, Edith (Arthur) Bird of Erda, UT, Christie Robertson of Rexburg and John (Melody) Robertson of Jackson, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Orland the 10th of November 2010 and by her parents, four sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Jackson LDS Church (428 East Broadway) with Bishop Michael Redzich officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. A viewing will also be held in Rexburg on Tuesday, January 25th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Flamm Funeral Home (61 North 1st East). Interment will be in the South Park Cemetery.
