Lois Evelyn Freeman, 97, of Rexburg, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Rexburg due to complications from dementia.

Lois was born May 7,1920 in Rigby, Idaho to Karl and Merinda Lauridsen Horne, the oldest of seven siblings. She attended schools in Rexburg.

On June 24,1940, Lois married the love of her life Don S. Freeman. From their union they welcomed five children.

Lois was a dedicated member of The Community Presbyterian Church and held many offices. Her passions included; her children, home interior design, and especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was always cooking something up and making sure every one was taken care of. She was grandma Lois to everyone, it didn't matter who you were, she was grandma.

Lois is survived by her daughters; Carolyn Crotty of Pahrump, Nevada, Nancy (Garth) Meikle of Rexburg and a son Robert (Teresa) Freeman of Rexburg, Three sisters; Dorthy Johnson, Mary Johnson and Barbara Griffin and a brother Ned (Margene) Horne, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Karl and Merinda, her husband Don Freeman, a son Wayne Freeman
, a daughter Kay Mehner, granddaughter Ashley Freeman Koloa, a brother Harold Horne, and two sisters Ina Hansen and Helen Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Flamm Funeral Home located at 61 North 1st East in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.

The family would especially like to thank Homestead Assisted Living, Hospice and all of the wonderful staff for all of the love and care they provided for the many years she resided there.
