Lois Jones

Lois Ruth LeBaron Jones, 70, of Rexburg, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. She was born June 13, 1938 in Barnwell, Alberta, Canada to Homer Neal LeBaron and Luella Pearl Wight. She was the 8th of 10 children.

She completed most of her primary education in Taber, Alberta, Canada. She graduated from Logan High School in Logan, Utah. She attended Ricks College and graduated in the first Nursing class in 1957.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission for the church in California and Arizona.

She married her eternal companion, Richard Holt Jones, on September 13, 1963 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had twelve children together. She felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was raising their children. Lois and Richard served a mission together in the Dominican Republic Temple from August 2004 to June 2006.

She loved doing genealogy and working in the temple. Her greatest joy was spending time with her 48 grandchildren; reading stories, making spud nuts and orange rolls. She was a woman of incredible faith and an example to all she came in contact with. Her children feel greatly blessed to be able to call her Mother.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Rexburg; her children, Bryan (Mary) Jones of Rexburg, Warren (Kristen) Jones of Johnson City, Tennessee, Stephanie (Darren) Haws of Sierra Vista, Arizona, RaeAnne (Preston) Carson of Burley, Idaho, Heather (Samuel) Richey of Herriman, Utah, SaraLyn (Steve) Veech of Kingsport, Tennessee, Ammon (Kristina) Jones of Salem, Oregon, Alvin (Amber) Jones of Provo, Utah, Neal (Amy) Jones of Sterling, Illinois, Daniel (Cassie) Jones of Junction City, Kansas, Kristen (David) Rossow of Meridian, Idaho, Kimball (Ashley) Jones of Draper, Utah; brothers, Homer (Aleene) LeBaron, Heber, Utah, Dale (Laura) LeBaron of Orem, Utah, Eddie (Judy) LeBaron of Costa Mesa, California, Glenn (Gloria) LeBaron of Sherwood Park, Alberta; 48 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, a sister, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, at the Rexburg North Stake Center, 314 East 2nd North, with Bishop Jerry Virgin of the Rexburg 8th Ward officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Saturday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the stake center prior to services. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
