LoRee Englund Womack, 98, of Rexburg, passed away November 07, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was born January 03, 1920 in Rexburg, Idaho to Constantine Everet Englund and Catherine Gertrude Ronnenkamp. She was the fourth of seven children. Growing up she loved many activities including, ice-skating, and swimming in the canal next to her home. She graduated from Madison High School in 1939.
She married Elmer Roylance Womack on May 26, 1939 in Rexburg. On July 31, 1941, their daughter Karen Nadine Womack was born. For most of her married life they farmed in the Teton Basin and Hibbard areas.
She was always known as "Grandmother" to all of her grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids. Grandmother was very talented in many areas. She participated in competitive ballroom dancing, bowling tournaments, and also taught swimming as a Red Cross swim instructor. She and Elmer shared the love of skiing and for many years were ski instructors. Her main passion was golfing and loved being able to share that passion with her family and even golfed with her great-grandkids until the age of 93. She loved making beautiful quilts on her sewing machine and was still sewing up until just a few years ago.
One of the most important things to Grandmother was caring for her family. She dedicated her life to taking care of them and cherished every minute of it. She loved all the children in her family and they loved her.
She is survived by her daughter: Karen Wright, Granddaughter Jodi (Richard) Thornock, Grandson Jason (Nan) Wright, 12 Great-Grandchildren, and 31 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Womack, her son-in-law Bryant Wright, and her grandsons Jim Wright and Jeff Wright.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the Hibbard Church, 2001 N. 3000 West, in Rexburg, Idaho. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
