Lori Ann Owens, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 28, 1961, in Ashton, Idaho, to Gail and Jackie Blanchard.
Lori was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having been raised in the faith from birth. She married the love of her life, Ben L. Owens, on November 16, 1984, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with four children: Slade Randall (Danielle) Owens, Ben Brayden Owens, Kaylee Ann (Dustin) Silva, and Kade L. Owens.
Lori was the loving grandmother to five grandchildren: Leah Ann, Louie Theodore, Sydney Jean, Donnie Ben, and Daphne Lee, who brought her endless joy. She was also a dear sister to Lisa Thompson, Brenda Francom, Shane Blanchard, and Eric Blanchard. As well as a caring aunt and friend to many.
Throughout her life, Lori found immense joy in serving others, especially in the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in multiple callings within the church, but her most cherished calling was teaching Sunbeams. Lori's unwavering faith and love for children shined brightly in her work with the young children of the Church. She will be remembered for her kindness, patience, and her ability to find the good in every situation.
In addition to her service in the Church, Lori had a successful career in both Weight Waters Corp. And her husband's construction business. She was deeply passionate about her grandchildren, health and wellness, and she shared that passion with others throughout her life. Lori also had many hobbies that brought her great joy, including landscaping, gardening, organizing, and scrapbooking. She loved creating beauty around her, whether in her home, garden, or through the treasured memories she captured in her scrapbooks. She was also a talented pianist, sharing her love of music with her family.
Lori's legacy is one of love and positivity. She had an incredible ability to find the good in everything and everyone. Her radiant spirit, her gentle smile, and her unshakable faith in God touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a shining example of grace, compassion, and dedication to her family and faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gail Blanchard, and her beloved son, Slade Owens. Lori's family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with Slade and that families are forever.
