IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lorna
Leatham
March 17, 1942 – June 22, 2025
Lorna Rigby Leatham, age 83, most recently of Spanish Fork, Utah, died of natural causes incident to age on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Heritage Gardens Assisted Living Center in Springville, Utah.
Lorna was born in Rexburg, Idaho, on March 17, 1942, to Alvin Beck Rigby and Arema Jacobs. She grew up in Hibbard (just west of Rexburg). She played bassoon in the school orchestra and graduated from Madison High School in 1960. She married Gilbert Wayne Leatham on August 8, 1962, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They lived most of their lives in Hibbard. In their high school yearbooks, Wayne had been called "the quiet man" and Lorna "blessed with the gift of gab"一a match made in heaven. Lorna worked for many years at Rexburg Floral, as a cashier at BYU-Idaho, and then as a sales associate at Zippy Ship n' Copy. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings, including Young Women's Advisor, Primary Chorister, and the Relief Society Presidency. She and Wayne also served as ordinance workers in the Idaho Falls Temple.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Mike) Southwick, her son Keith (Nancy) Leatham, her daughter Cathy Baird, and her grandchildren, Michael Southwick, Jaden Leatham, and Shea Leatham. She was preceded in death by her beloved Wayne (who passed in 2020), her son Garth, and her daughter Julia.
Lorna loved people and made friends wherever she went. We will miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM, Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Hibbard Chapel. The family will receive friends that morning from 9:30-11:15AM at the same location. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
