Obituary

Lorraine Joy Bowman passed away July 12, 2022.

She was born July 5, 1958 in Henderson, Nevada to John and Phyllis Bowman. She graduated from Basic High School in Henderson in 1976. She loved America and was thrilled to almost have been born on the Fourth of July and to have graduated in our country's bicentennial year.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Lorraine was indeed a joy in the lives of many. She loved doing things for others, especially those who were experiencing hard times. She was always the first to think of a way to help someone in need and the first to come up with ideas for celebrating birthdays and other momentous occasions.

Although she had no children of her own, she loved children, be they family, friends, neighbors or even strangers. She loved to plan parties for them and take them little gifts.

Whenever she went shopping, she would buy items that were a great deal; then decide who could use them. She always had potential gifts tucked away in her closet for any occasion or no occasion at all.

She was in the midst of planning a big birthday celebration for a beloved aunt, but unfortunately, Lorraine passed away beforehand.

She loved family and family events, Americana, collecting dolls and attending doll events, telling stories, sewing, shopping, decorating (home and cake decor), lasting friendships, and our many pet dogs.

She is survived by her mother Phyllis Bowman, her sisters, Leanna, Linda and Amy, her brothers, Charles and Jesse and favorite nephews and nieces Blake, Brian, John, Joseph (and their families), Madison, Allison and Michael as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father John and her brother-in-law, Joel, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom she loved and missed. We know they are having a joyous reunion.

We truly appreciate and want to thank the staff of Madison Memorial Hospital and the first responders for their help and valiant efforts. We would also like to thank our Bishop, ward members, friends and neighbors who comforted and helped in a time of need.

Grave Side Service will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, 10 am at the Burton Cemetery.
