Edna Lucile Barrickman Leatham, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the amazing age of 96. She died from natural causes at the Art City Nursing Home in Springville, Utah.
Lucile was born July 12, 1915, in Ashton, Idaho, to Harvey and Maggie Barrickman. She married Gilbert Berry Leatham on November 10, 1936, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on January 29, 1960.
Lucile loved the outdoors. Her flowers were her passion. If there were huckleberry bushes in sight, she would be in the middle of them. Her crocheting and embroidery skills were truly amazing. Lucile loved to do temple work and to serve the Lord in whatever capacity she was called to. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family whether it was playing games late into the night, singing around the piano, or just sitting and sharing memories and fun stories. She leaves with her family a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Lucile is survived by her son, Gilbert Wayne Leatham and his spouse, Lorna (Rigby) Leatham; three of her grandchildren, Cindy (Leatham) Southwick and her spouse Michael Glen Southwick, Keith Rigby Leatham and his spouse Nancy Lynn (Strong) Leatham, and Cathy (Leatham) Baird; and three beautiful great-grandchildren, Michael Wayne Southwick, Jaden Keith Leatham, and Shea Capri Leatham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Berry Leatham; parents, Harvey and Maggie Barrickman; three sisters, Gladys Lee, Elsie Barnhart, and Maude Sturges; and two of her grandchildren, Garth Wayne Leatham, and Julia Leatham.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 10, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hibbard Church located at 2029 N. 3000 W. in Rexburg, Idaho. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home (61 N. 1st E., Rexburg) and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
