Lucile Ayako Yamagata Miyasaki, 98, of Rexburg, Idaho passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at her daughter's, Sandra Miyasaki, home. She was under care of Rexburg Home Health and Hospice. Lucile was born on September 19, 1919 to Sannosuke and Chiyo Yamagata in Rexburg, Idaho.
She was the third of eight children. A family of six brothers and a sister. Michio ("Mike)Yamagata(deceased), Yukio (John) Yamagata (deceased), Haruo (Harold) Yamagata, Isao (Jack) Yamagata, Torao ("Tee) Yamagata, Tadami (Fred) Yamagata, and Lillian (Chico) Kusaka.
Lucile went to Cedarpoint School near Lyman, Hibbard, graduated eighth grade from Burton School and graduated from Madison High School.
On May 29,1939, she married Kiyoshi Miyasaki. As was traditional, it was arranged by a Japanese go-between. They began their home life in Newdale, Idaho. They farmed until retiring in 1990. Moving to their 2nd East home in 1948, in Rexburg, so their children could attend school.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints , converted and baptized in 1958. She enjoyed being a Visiting Teacher going with her high school friend Barbara Jaussi and later with Loretta Rigby and Emma Williams.
Lucile is survived by her children Marie (Bill deceased)Sovereign of Idaho Falls, Sandra Miyasaki of Rexburg, and Bradley (Lisa) Miyasaki of Rexburg. As well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kiyoshi, parents, two brothers and her son-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 14 at 11 a.m. at Rexburg 4th Ward with Bishop Rob Woods officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Tuesday for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
The family request no flowers. Donation may be made to Humanitarian Aid, Missionary fund or Perpetual Education of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
