Obituary

Lucille Brower Searle, 90 of Ammon, died on October 15 in Idaho Falls. She was born on April 5, 1924 in St. Anthony to Joseph Ariah Brower and Hazel Barnes. She was raised in St. Anthony and attended schools there.

She was part of a family band for many years. They played for dances in Rexburg and throughout the area. She sang and played the guitar and also the violin.

On July 24 she married Orin Stewart Searle of Teton. This marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on June 22, 1963. They lived briefly in Salt Lake, before Orin served in the 2nd World War. Upon his return they built a home in Idaho Falls and later moved to Ammon, where they raised their three children.

They were members of the LDS church where she served in several capacities throughout the years. She served for three years as a Pink Lady in the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, was a member of the Gemette Chapter of the Sweet Adelines for many years and loved to travel, camp, square dance, sing and perform with her guitar, crochet and spend time visiting her children and grandchildren. Following her husband's retirement, they spent their winters at a home in Yuma, Arizona. Her husband, Orin passed away in Yuma on December 15, 1991. She was alone for several years and on September 12, 1998 she married Cecil LeRoy Sant. He passed away November 28, 2004.

Survivors include her three children, Darla Chase Christensen (Wynn Christensen), of Iona, ID, Sherry Bratsman (Brent Bratsman) of Eagle, ID, and Kevin Orin Searle (Cathy Searle) of Kamiah, ID, 15 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a step-mother, Pearl Brower, two brothers and three sisters, a son-in-law, David Oray Chase, and a great-great grandson, Carver Lee Ballard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Ammon 6th ward LDS Chapel at 2150 Avocet, Ammon, ID,, with Earl Cleverly officiating. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
