Obituary

Luella Smith Jeppson (85) returned to her heavenly home and family amidst a beautiful sunset with the birds singing outside her window; her sister and best friend, Vonda, by her side and surrounded by family. Luella was born at the family home in Lyman Idaho, on October 3rd, 1936, to James Ivan Smith and Sara Elizabeth Branson she joined a sister, Belva, and brothers, Dale and Eldon. Later Vonda and David rounded out the family.

Luella attended schools in Madison County and Ririe, Idaho. She met Kay Jeppson when he was working for his uncle in Archer. They married June 10, 1953, in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. To this union were born 8 children, 2 sons and 6 daughters. Together Kay and Luella built their farm and family In Sunnydell, Idaho. Kay and Luella worked for the U & I Sugar Co. When they closed down both went to school. Luella obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate. It was hard work, but she enjoyed it and had a lot of common sense to help her with her career. She worked at Madison memorial hospital in the nursery for several years then went to work for the Pediatrician. She loved working with the children. She gave THE best shots, you never felt it.

Kay passed away on June 18, 1998. Luella worked as a nurse until her retirement. She took great joy in being with family and celebrating them. She enjoyed traveling and taking drives. She was always game to go anywhere with anyone, she just wanted to take the scenic route.
She was able to take several cruises and road trips with family. She loved the warm weather, seeing new places and spending time with loved ones. Later in life she liked to people watch; she would go with you and stay in the car just to watch everyone else.

She is survived by her sister Vonda (Jerry) Blosch; her children LeAnn (Steve) Sutton, Shellie (James H) Wright, Gail (Galen) Mills, Marla (Kesl) Neilson, Steven Robert (Keni) Jeppson, Jana (Jake) Siepert, Kris (Bill) Ziegler. 17 grandsons 18 granddaughters, 72 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Kay L Jeppson, her son James K. Jeppson, daughter-in-law Mindy Dansie Jeppson, her parents, brothers, and one sister.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday July 5th at 11:00 am at the Archer/Sunnydell LDS chapel (201 West 8000 South, Rexburg) a viewing will be held prior to services 9:30-10:45 am. Interment will be at Sutton cemetery following services.
