Lyle Ray Shupe, " Cork", 79 of Hamer, Idaho, died Tuesday, November 21, 2013 at his home. Lyle was born September 28, 1934, in Hamer, Idaho to William "Bill" and Alice Shupe. He attended the University of Idaho in Moscow and he served in the US Army, stationed in Japan, during the Korean War.
He married Karlene Stoddard on March 24, 1962. They raised their six children in Hamer on their family farm.
Lyle raised Polled hereford cattle and grew hay, grain and potatoes. He enjoyed teaching 4H. He also served on the Mudlake Telephone Board for many years.
Lyle is survived by his wife Karlene, sons; Neil Shupe, Allan (Camden) Shupe, Bill (Vicky) Shupe, Shell (Kaylene) Shupe, daughter; Kitty Harllee, brothers; Larry, Dee and Pete Shupe, a sister; Janet Miller, and 23 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Robbi Shupe-Boston (husband Bob Boston) and a son-in-law; Clayton Harllee II.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at the LDS church in Hamer. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services on Monday. Interment will be in the West Jefferson Memorial Cemetery with military rites by the Verle Skidmore Post of the V.F.W. and the Idaho Honor Guard.
