Margaret Mary Phillipp Bean, 85, passed away Sunday May 31, 2015
with her family at her side. She was born on May 10, 1930 in Idaho
Falls, Idaho to Joseph A. Phillipp and Frances Sieger Phillipp. She had five older siblings, Genevieve, Catherine, Angela, Blanche and Herman,and four younger siblings Pauline, Paul, Joe and Rosalie.
Margaret spent her early years in various homes in Idaho Falls. When
she was ten, the family moved to the farm where CAL Ranch now sits.
Their house was up on the hill.
Margaret attended Holy Rosary School through 8th grade. She then
attended Idaho Falls High School and graduated in 1948. In the fall of
1948, Margaret went to Spokane, WA and trained as a nurse at Sacred
Heart Hospital. She received her RN in 1951. Margaret began her nursing career at Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls, then moved to San Francisco with her sister Angie and worked at Children's hospital there for a year. Following her year in San Francisco, she returned to Idaho Falls and resumed her job on the surgical floor at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Margaret married Russell Bean on September 15, 1956 at Holy Rosary
Church in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Together they raised four children, Leisa, Lane, LaRue and Lloyd.
Margaret was a loving and supporting wife to Russell. She helped him
with potato cutting and harvesting. Along with taking care of the home
and garden, she always did projects with her creative flair. She spent
many hours doing things for her children, both in their younger and
adult years. Margaret was known throughout the community for her
giving and generous nature. She quietly showed compassion to those
in need, and served others with simple acts of kindness.
She was a faithful member of the Mary Immaculate Parish of the
Catholic Church.
She is survived by sisters Angela Frost and Blanche Newman of Idaho
Falls, Catherine Marr of Paradise, California and Pauline and Roddy
Fischer of Twin Falls, brothers Herman Phillipp of Idaho Falls and Paul and Joni Phillipp of Park City, Utah; children, Leisa Clark of Delano, Minnesota, Lane and Geri Bean of Teton, LaRue and John Lambert of Mackay; nine grandchildren, Reed and Rachael Bean, Kristen Bean, Jacob Lambert, Seth and Katie Lambert, Adam Lambert, Eric and Jennie Clark, Brian Clark, Russell Clark and Joel Clark; and 2 great-grandchildren Elena and Ethan Clark.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Bean, parents,
Joseph and Frances Phillipp, son Lloyd Norman Bean, siblings Joe
Phillipp, Rosalie Phillipp and Genevieve and Steve Newman, brothers-in-law, Pat Frost and George Newman, sisters-in-law Maria Phillipp and
Bernice Phillipp.
A Rosary and Vigil will be held Friday, June 5 at 5:00 pm at Bert Flamm Mortuary (581 E 1st N St. Anthony) followed by visitation for friends and family from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday June 6 at 11 am at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church (328 W 1st N St. Anthony.) Interment will be at the Teton-Newdale Cemetery
