Margaret Jennie Steel, 70, passed away on December 10, 2021. Margaret was born on January 30, 1951, in Rexburg Idaho to Max and Sarah (Arile) Ottesen.

Margaret attended school in Sugar City, Idaho where she was part of the drill team in high school. Margaret was a very talented lady. She loved drawing portraits of other people. She enjoyed crocheting blankets, hot pads and dish cloths and would give them as gifts to many.

She spent many hours with all her grandchildren. They spent many times at Margaret's parents' lot in Island Park (including camping a couple of times), swimming at Rigby Lake, BBQ in the backyard as the grandkids ran through the sprinklers, adventure in St. George 2 times a year at a her sons house, and especially lawn mower rides around the backyard that was a must even though Dal was against it (it was one of the highlights for her grandchildren and she wanted to see them smile).

She is survived by her husband, Dal, her children; Nancy (Steven) Brown, John (Christy) Hansen, Joel (Misty) Hansen, Arile (Jacob) Adams, her stepchildren; Shawn (Tamra) Steel, Wendi (Dustin) Birch, James (Elissa) Steel, Darren Steel and Sarah (Tony) Austin, as well as 40 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Linda Voss, Sven (Connie) Ottesen, Mary Ellen Young and Marie (Mike) Rasmussen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Stacy Hansen, a grandson, Cody Hansen, and her In-laws; Louis and Edna Steel.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14th at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Plano Cemetery.
