Marie Annette Brown, 82, of Rexburg, died June 23, 2021, at Homestead Senior Living of natural causes.
She was born October 31, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Nicholas Francis Joseph and Rena Myrtle Ward DeLange. She was raised and attended school in Idaho Falls.
She met Al Brown as a teenager and they later eloped and were married in Yuma, Arizona. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1963.
Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where they homesteaded for seven years. They later moved back to Idaho where they raised their family.
While living in Alaska she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed her membership and participated there for the remainder of her life.
Marie worked for a number of years as the manager of the bakery at Albertson's on 17th Street in Idaho Falls. She enjoyed her associations there.
She loved to ski and was on the Ski Patrol and Kelly Canyon for several years. She liked working in her yard and especially enjoyed raising flowers. She loved the ocean, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Gene (Rhonda) Brown of Kingman, Arizona, Dave (Karen) Brown of Fort Rock, Arizona, Denise (Joseph) Cornell of Rexburg; her sisters, Christina Lawrence of Arizona, Kay Schule of California, Kathy Eastep of Arizona; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al; daughter, Randolene; and brothers, Fritz, Steve and Jimmy.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28, at the Iona Cemetery, 4962 East 1st Street, Idaho Falls, 83401. The family will receive friends and family Sunday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the cemetery prior to services.
