Mark Edward McCulloch, 74, of Hibbard, died Friday, March 2, 2018, at the Rexburg Care and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.
He was born April 16, 1943, in Rexburg, Idaho, to John Lee McCulloch and Lois Berneta Priest. He was raised in St. Anthony and attended South Fremont High School.
He married Mary J'lene Wasden on May 2, 1969, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Three children, Jackilyn, Sheldon, and Jennifer, were born to this union.
Mark was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. He enjoyed serving in the Rexburg Temple for several years.
Mark was a hard worker. He worked as a farmer and a plumber. He drove truck, worked in the lumber industry and in many other occupations.
He enjoyed working with his hands and was always tinkering on some project in his shop. He liked to be outdoors, raising a garden, picking huckleberries and asparagus. He liked hunting for arrowheads. A good day was driving the back roads in the area, enjoying the countryside.
Mark seemed to know everyone and never met a stranger. He was kind to everyone. He had many good friends and neighbors that took an interest in him. He especially appreciated the relationship that he had with Jim and Shelly Winn and their children.
He is survived by his children, Jackilyn (Kevin) Baxter of Astoria, Oregon, Sheldon (Kimberley Holste) McCulloch of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jennifer (Kerry Dean Larsen) McCulloch of Pocatello; siblings, Linda Cookston of Meridian, Bill Maupin of Rigby, Lela Newey of Park City, Utah, Terry De Long of Ashton; grandchildren, Malysa (Erik) Paulson of Portland, Oregon, Niquelle (Avery Petersen) Baxter of Astoria, Emma Kate Larsen of Pocatello; and a great-granddaughter, Rosalyn J'lene Paulson of Portland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John (Erma Lou) McCulloch, Lois (Oscar) Maupin; and siblings Shirlee Potter and Jeris Baldwin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, at the Henry's Fork Stake Center, 1508 East 3000 North, in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
