Marlene' (Molly) Rae Smith Winters, 86, peacefully passed away August 20th, 2023 at home surrounded with her family by her side.
Molly was born February 19, 1937, in Ashton Idaho. The second daughter born to Calvin Harmon Smith and Martha Belle Edginton Smith. She grew up in Ashton , attending schools in Ashton and St. Anthony.
Molly met and married Sam Winters in St. Anthony Idaho on March 9, 1953. Sam was the love of her life. They made their home in St. Anthony, raising two children. Later their spent their winters, after retirement going south in a warmer climate.
Molly was a stay at home mom raising their children until school age. She then decided to work outside the home. She started a job on the trim line at Basic American Potato, and at the time of her retiring she was a lab technician.
Molly was self taught in all the things she loved to do, cooking sewing, crocheting, knitting, baking, canning, candy making and anything crafty. She down played her ability to paint, but whatever she decided to do she did it proficiently. She loved to go camping and being outdoors.
Molly is survived by her sister Gaylene Blair, daughter Shawna (Scott) Mace, son Rondo (Nikki) Winters, Grandchildren; ShayLynn (Ben) Greenwood, Rondo K Winters, Kimberly Winters, Tyrell (Camille) Davis, Sara Winters, Keenan (Lori) Mace, Nikkita Berg. Great Grandchildren: Jenacee Davis (Brody) Buck, Oaklee Mace, Davis Greenwood, Jaibree Davis, Dominic Winters, Nia Greenwood, Jeremya Mauch, Rayce Davis, Noelle Greenwood, Derek Greenwood, Izaac Winters, Brennan Davis, Dylan Davis, Roman Mendoza, Nora Greenwood, Bracken Mace, Dawson Greenwood Tayson (Kendall) Rowbury and Brinlie (Reece) Yancey, Great Great Granchildren: Millie Buck, Maeve Buck, Laiken Rowbury, Everleigh Rowbury and Kyson Rowbury.
Besides her parents she was preceeded in death by her husband Sam Winters, sister Clella Grende, baby brother Calvin Harris, daughter-in-law Michele Winters, grandson Jason Davis.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday August 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony. The family will receive friends that day from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
Our family would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Michael Packer and his staff, as well as Aspen Hospice for the attention, care and support they gave in caring for our mom.
