Obituary

Marva Lee Allgood Tucker, was born on June 4, 1927 in Teton City, Idaho. She was the first of five children born to Neva Maude Harris and Ernest E. Allgood.

She passed away at the Ashton Nursing Home in Ashton, Idaho on December 31, 2014 at the age of 87.

She spent her entire life in Teton City. When she was a young girl she worked in the seed houses in the area with her mother, her early education was in Teton and she was a good student with a fondness for spelling bees. At a young age she was left with the responsibility of raising her siblings while her mother worked, cutting her education short.

She married Reed Tucker in Rigby, Idaho, in June of 1947. When they were first married they lived on the farm north of Newdale. It was in the middle of the nowhere and that is when she taught herself how to drive the old International pick up in to Teton to see her family. They bought a house in Teton and remained in that house for the rest of their lives. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings throughout her life.

She was an excellent cook and was known for her hand dipped chocolates. She loved to read, sing, and work in her garden and bottled what she produced in her garden. She loved getting together with the ladies of Teton on their birthdays. She was always up for a good card game.

She had a very kind heart and never spoke ill of anyone. She was a dear mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed.

She is survived by her five children, Terry Tucker and Mike Tucker of Teton, Randy (Debbie) Tucker of Idaho Falls, Connie (Brent) Burrell of Ashton and Debby (Gene) Mace of St. Anthony. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Also brothers Harris (Joyce) Allgood of Mountain Home, Bud (Rita) Allgood of St. Anthony, Jean (Marvin) Herndon of Idaho Falls and Linda (Gary) Campbell of Ivins, Utah.

The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Ashton Nursing Home that loved her and took such good care of her during her stay.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6th at the Teton LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Primary Children's Hospital.
