Mary Lou Bell

Mary Lou Bell, 75, passed away peacefully in the Rexburg Care and Rehabilitation Center with her husband at her side, on Friday, October 14, 2011. Mary Lou was born March 1, 1936 in Rexburg, Idaho to Wain and Bertie Garner Davis. She was the second of three children. They were a loving and happy LDS family.

Mary Lou attended Hibbard Elementary where she was taught by each of her parents. She graduated from Madison High School in 1954. After high school she attended business school before working in the courts for Madison County.

Mary Lou was a devoted wife and mother. She loved everyone but especially her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, quilting, cooking, reading, and traveling with her husband.

Mary Lou and Orian K. Westover were married on November 15, 1957 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had one son, Danny. Orian passed away in March of 1968.

On July 15, 1972 she married William B. Bell, in Rexburg, Idaho. Together they had one son Travis. They also raised 5 other children from Bill's first marriage.

Mary Lou held many callings in the LDS Church, including those in the Primary, Relief Society, and Sunday School where she taught, played the piano, served in the presidencies and she also served as ward historian.

She is survived by her husband, William Bell of Rexburg, a sister, Sue Neilson of Boise, Idaho, and her children, Danny (Lois) Westover of Las Vegas, NV, Travis (Nicole) Bell of Mackay, ID, Trista (Marty) Howell of Seattle, WA, Tony (Nedra) Bell, Idaho Falls, ID, Michelle (Bryant) Greene of Rexburg, ID, Cody (Shawn) Bell of Shawano, WI, Derek (Tracie) Bell of Rigby, ID as well as 26 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in the death by her parents, a brother, Blair Davis, a granddaughter Lauren Bell, and her husband, Orian Westover.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Archer LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and again from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
