Obituary

Our angel wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary Angeline Bush Ricks Brown, age 79, passed peacefully in to the arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 10th 2015. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Mary Angeline Bush was born on January 9th, 1936 in Rexburg, ID. She was the ninth of eleven children born to Charles Melvin Bush and Dora Mae Johnson Bush.

Mary grew up in Rexburg, Idaho, attending schools there and graduated from Madison High School in 1954. She married Franklin Owen Ricks in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 16th, 1959. From this union were born four children. Carrie, Troy, Sally, and Kristie. Her husband and children were her life, and she devoted all of her free time making sure their lives were happy. They were all sad when their marriage ended in divorce.

Later in life, she met and married Perry Rex Brown from Lewisville, Idaho. They honeymooned in Hawaii, and spent their days working in the yard, going for drives, and fishing together.

Mary was taught to work hard from a young age. She worked various jobs, including Good Samaritan, Roger Brothers, RT French, and Pillsbury, where she made lifelong friends.

Mary knew how to joke and have fun. She was an excellent story teller, and those who loved her enjoyed hearing her stories over and over again. Mary enjoyed the great outdoors, travel, nature, fishing, working in her garden, and most of all, spending time with all of her children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held various callings in the church, her favorites being nursery leader, cub scouts, and compassionate service leader. Mary served others her entire life. She was always looking out for the under-dog. No person left her table hungry. She was a friend to all, and we will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Dee, Dora Whitmore (Calvin), Kenneth (Nadine), Lester, James, George (Millie), Byron, Bill (Shirley), and Lois Collier (Roy), her son in law, Brad Birch, and a grandson Bradley, and one great grandson, Michael. She is survived by her husband, Perry Rex Brown, of Lewisville, one brother, Bryant Bush (Gayle) of Idaho Falls, sisters-in-law Shirley Hill, Shirley Madsen, Ida Bush, and her children, Carrie Birch, Troy Ricks (Marsha), Sally Lewis (William), and Kristie Thompson (Kim) as well as eighteen grandchildren and a gaggle of darling great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14th, 2015, at 11:00am at the Lewisville LDS Church building (474 N 3450 E). The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, January 13th, 2015 from 6-7:30 pm. and on Wednesday from 10:00-10:45am. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary in St. Anthony, Idaho.
