Mary Lou Tanner Rinehart, 62 of St. Anthony passed away, after a long illness, Monday, June 27, 2022 at home with her husband by her side.

Mary was born August 5, 1959 in Rexburg, Idaho to John and Bernice Jones Tanner. Her family lived in Rexburg, Fort Lewis, Washington and Marysville, ID. She attended school in Ashton and graduated from North Fremont High School in 1979.

She worked in local potato warehouses and attended Ricks College. She met Lyndon Rinehart on February 13, 1982 and they were married on August 7, 1982. Their marriage was solemnized on September 4, 2000 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children, Lyndon born in 1985, Robert born in 1988, Douglas born in 1996 and Malissa in 2000.

Mary worked off and on but her main occupation was raising her children and husband. She loved spoiling her grandchildren. Mary and Lyndon would go to the Virginia City Montana Grand Ball every year taking their children and eventually their grandchildren with them. Mary loved family reunions and family dinners.

Mary was a longtime member of the St. Anthony Lions Club and could be found at community events for Ashton and St. Anthony either supporting, volunteering or helping in some way. She loved going to church and always invited her grandchildren to go with her.

She is survived by her husband Lyndon of St. Anthony; children, Lyndon II (Ashley Johnson) Rinehart of St. Anthony; Robert Rinehart of St. Anthony; Douglas of Marysville and Malissa Rinehart of St. Anthony; her sister, Linda Rutledge and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bernice Tanner, her brother, LeeRoy Tanner and her parents-in-law Arnold and Peggy Rinehart.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N. and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at St. Anthony.
