Mary Loraina Settles, 83, passed away on May 11, 2012, at the home of her daughter, Brenda Davis, in St. Anthony, Idaho.
Mary was born November 15, 1929, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to Frank McKinley Digges and Augusta March Miller.
Mary graduated from Mackay High School and later moved to Clayton where her mother and step-father lived. This is where she met her future husband, Richard "Dick" Settles. They were married in June, 1950 and three children were born of this union. They lived in Mackay for a couple of years and then moved back to Clayton where they raised their family. They later divorced in 1975.
She later moved closer to her daughter, Brenda, where she was employed as a CNA for Ashton Nursing Home. Mary moved to St. Anthony and lived in the Senior Citizen Housing for several years and made many good friends.
Mary loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, camping and having family picnics with the Wall family. She loved the traditional Easter Picnic every year. She also enjoyed playing pool and bowling. In her younger days she was a tough competitor and was rarely beaten.
She is survived by her three children, Mac C. Settles of Baker City, Oregon; Linda G. Coates (Gene) of Yerington, Nevada; Brenda Davis (Ralph) of St. Anthony, Idaho; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a sister, Lucille Wall (Earl) of Mackay, Idaho.
As per her wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements were made by Bert Flamm Mortuary in St. Anthony.
