Obituary

On Sunday January 8th, the world lost a known laugh and a bit of sarcasm when MaryAnn Siepert passed away at the age of 71 in Rexburg Idaho.

MaryAnn was born October 8, 1951 and was raised in Bountiful Utah. She moved to Rexburg area in 1971 with her former husband Doug Siepert. She worked and helped run their landscaping business until the Teton flood took everything they had.

After the flood, they re-established in the Thornton area. In the winter of 1976, they embarked on a new adventure of opening their new business Fur, Feather, and Fly. To support the fly-fishing industry with fly tying materials. The business ran until the early 2000's supplying fly tying materials to companies locally, nationally and across the globe.

MaryAnn loved flowers and house plants and in her younger years she would spend many hours in her flower beds, planting flat after flat of petunias. When no longer able to work in her flower beds, she enjoyed hearing and seeing pictures of Jenny's gardens and flowerbeds.

She had a passion for life, loved people, and never knew a stranger. She loved to chat, cook and share meals, watch ghost shows along with Christmas movies (regardless of the time of year), or have a cup of coffee with family and friends. Those that knew her best knew the coffee pot was always on and the best days involved oatmeal raisin cookies beside the cup of coffee.

MaryAnn loved her two boys Nick and Greg with all her being, but also took the time to love and impact the lives of many others that she loved as her own. Those around her will always remember her love for animals most importantly her dogs, and the chaos the ensued when she would spoil them with love and a few treats from the table. She had a heart for others even up to her last days.

MaryAnn is survived by her children Nick (Pam) Siepert, Greg (Jenny) Siepert. Her granchildren Autumn (Dallas) Dixon, Winters Rees, and Iris Rees. Her great-grandson Baxter Likes, and her brother George (Debbie) Pappas.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her father John S. Pappas, mother Catherine L. Pappas, and her brother John S. Pappas.

The family would also like to thank and extend their gratitude to all those family and friends that checked in, ran errands, helped with doctor's appointments, fixed wheelchair ramps, repaired holes in the floor, helped with electrical, plumbing and general maintenance, plowed snow and made her life the best for her. Most importantly you put a smile on her face and made her happy.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date when weather will allow the family to honor her final wishes.
