Maurine Griffeth Steiner, 93, passed away, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Madison Memorial Hospital.
Maurine was born February 10, 1917 to Anciel Fernando Griffeth and Luella Christen Anderson in Grover, Wyoming. She lived in Grover until she moved to Rexburg to attend and graduate from Ricks College. It was in Rexburg where she met her future husband, Weldon George Steiner. They were married January 6, 1941 and then sealed in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.
Maurine's life's work was dedicated to her husband and children. She filled their home with love, compassion and teachings of the Gospel. Her example touched everyone she met and she is loved by all who knew her.
As an active member to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served valiantly in many Church callings, including Mutual and Relief Society.
Maurine is survived by her daughters, Teddie Lou Steiner, Shana Deen (Russell) Van Allen and Vick Lynn (Garald) Smith. She is a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her youngest daughter, Wendelin (Randall) Briggs, her parents and siblings.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at Flamm Funeral Home (61 N 1st E) in Rexburg with Bishop Tyler Barton of the Willowbrook Ward officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 18, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and also prior to the services from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. all at funeral home. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
