Obituary

Cecile Maye Turner Kary died Sunday December 6, 2020 at Homestead Assisted Living in St. Anthony.

She was born May 14, 1926 to Cecil and Rosina Anderson Turner in Bottineau, North Dakota. She was educated in the Bottineau county schools including the North Dakota State School of Foresty located in Bottineau. She also attended Minot State Teachers College in Minot, North Dakota and further business courses at Utah State in Logan, Utah while working for the Utah Mortgage and Loan Company of Cache Valley Bank in Logan, Utah.

On June 7, 1947 she married Mark Kary and they lived and worked in several states while Mark worked for the bureau of Indian affairs and the U.S. Forest Service in Forestry and Range Management. Their son Curtis was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon while they were stationed at the Klamath Indian Agency.

The Targhee Nat'l forest in St. Anthony, Idaho was the last duty station for Mark and Cecile worked for Farmers Equity, Jergenson Law office, Doctor S. Jarell and other doctors who worked at Fremont General Hospital. They retired and stayed on their little ranch to rebuild after the Teton Dam failure.

They loved to work with their animals and were involved with several youth groups especially 4-H as they moved from area to area in 5 states.
She is survived by her son Curtis of St. Anthony; 2 step grandchildren Jason & Michelle and 4 step great grandchildren; her brother Leslie (Shari) Turner of Botteneau, North Dakota; many nieces and nephews and 5 cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Jack, her husband Mark and her daughter-in-law Marilyn.

There will be no local services but a memorial Mass will be held in Botteneau, North Dakota at the St. Mark's Catholic Church. The date to be noted later.

Interment will be in the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Fort Abraham Lincoln at Mandan North Dakota, next to her husband Mark.
