Obituary

Merlin Myrtillo Hobbs, 72, of Ashton Idaho returned to his Heavenly home on January 7, 2016.

Merlin was born March 17, 1943 in Chester Idaho to Mary Jennetta Hobbs and Leroy Daniel Hobbs. He grew up and attended schools in Chester and St. Anthony.


He loved the land and spent many of his years farming, and working various jobs through out his life time. He loved his 5 girls and spoiled them all and loved sharing his time with them and grandchildren that came along. He will be greatly missed.


He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in multiple capacities. He enjoyed his family, hunting and the outdoors.


He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Lynn Hobbs, Dean Hobbs, and Mary LaRue Nettles.


He is survived by his wife, Terry Tingey Hobbs, daughters Loura (Brent) Walker, Marla (Jeffery) Hill, Chanelle (Garth) Woodland, Lisa (Brad) Shier, Tawna (Bryant) Ruiz, sixteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony 4th LDS Ward Chapel (507 W. 2nd N.). Merlin's family will receive friends Tuesday, January 12th from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary (581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony, ID) and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery with military rites provided by the St. Anthony VFW and American Legion and the Idaho Honor Guard.
