Obituary

Merrill R Pincock, 76, of Teton, passed away November 5, 2010, at Rexburg Care and Rehabilitation of congestive heart failure.
Dad was born May 14, 1934, to William Albert and Ruby Rushforth Pincock. He was raised and attended school in Sugar City and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School. After graduation, he attended Ricks College. Dad served an LDS mission in Southern California from 1955-1957.
He married Phyllis Hinckley on June 21, 1957, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they farmed in the Salem and Moody areas and raised five children. Mom lost a courageous battle against cancer on February 24, 1996.
While serving as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple, Dad met and married Beverly Lay James on December 15, 2000. Together they served two missions to the Nauvoo, Illinois Temple. They served as ordinance workers in the Idaho Falls, Nauvoo and Rexburg Temples.
Dad was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many capacities including: Bishop, High Councilor, Stake and Ward Missionary, Ward Executive Secretary, Scoutmaster, and Elders Quorum President. In the community he served as PTA President and on the Madison County Soil and Water Conservation Board.
Throughout his life, Dad enjoyed RVing with family and friends and spent many winters traveling throughout the West. Dad enjoyed working with his hands, building his own home and remodeling many others. He was an excellent welder and woodworker. He could easily repair anything mechanical or automotive.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Teton, children, Matthew (Colleen) Pincock of Ammon, Tresa (Kim) Kunz of Blackfoot, Paul (Brenda) Pincock of Teton, Heidi (John) Briggs of Newdale, and Shana (Randy) Lee of Blackfoot, step children: David (Judy) James, Douglas M. (Susan) James, and Daryl (Carmel) James of Rigby, Ron (Val) James of McCall, Dale (Brenda) James of Rigby, Jolene (Kevin) Anderson of Ammon, Kathy (Robert) O'Hara of Salt Lake City, and Colleen (Kent) Blessinger of Pocatello, a sister Alberta (Gerald) Tolman of Bancroft; 54 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his eternal companion, Phyllis, two granddaughters, one brother, one sister, and his parents.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 10, at 11:00 a.m. at the Teton LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, with Bishop Craig Carter officiating. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
