Mesa Kay Peterson passed away sweetly and peacefully at her home on February 12, 2018 with her mother and father by her side. Mesa struggled the last year from complications of cerebral palsy. She was born premature along with her twin brother Ashton on December 9, 2004, in Provo, Utah. Mesa and her family lived in Alpine, Utah for five years. The family then moved to Rexburg Idaho. Mesa attended half days at Lincoln elementary through 4th grade. She spent one year at the Madison Middle School before staying at home with her mom during the day.
Mesa's smile and countenance would light up a room, and she would giggle at the funny antics her family would engage in. Mesa loved music. From church hymns to Classic Rock, music calmed her soul when she was agitated. To this day, she is the only one that has ever smiled when her dad sang songs.
She loved watching her brothers play sports. Any time her health permitted, she loved being in the water as well. Mesa was also a big football fan, spending many afternoons watching football with her family.
Mesa brought joy and happiness to all those that met her. She taught us more about love than anyone could imagine. Her ward family cared for her greatly. She will be sorely missed and forever remembered by her loving, attentive, dedicated family.
Mesa is survived by her parents Aaron and Darla (Nelson) Peterson of Rexburg; sister, Marin; twin brother Ashton; two younger brothers, Greyson and Emillio; paternal Grandfather Ralph Withers of Rexburg; maternal Grandparents Len and Ellen Nelson of Idaho Falls, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins. She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Konra Withers.
