Michael "Mike" Hugh Glass was suddenly taken from this life at his home on May 8, 2018, into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and loved ones. He had fought a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
He was born in Bishop, California on May 1, 1948 to James Earl Glass and Shirley Louise Sherman. He lived in Los Angeles area for a while.
At the age of 14, his father moved the family to Idaho Falls where he graduated from Idaho Falls High School, from there he went to ISU where he got his bachelor's in business administration. He went on to use his skills to help manage a variety of positions for Boise Cascade and BMC and ended up managing the BMC Rexburg yard. When he retired he was working at the BMC Idaho Falls location.
His first marriage to Annette Fonnesbeck they had two wonderful sons, Jeremy Michael and Tillman James Glass. Later, in life, he met the loved of his life, his soulmate, and friend Cynthia Clinger. They married on March 27, 1981. They welcomed into their home a beautiful daughter Christian Maurice and two wonderful sons Kevin Argus and James C Glass. Later, their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 27, 1999. They lived in Idaho Falls for a while then moved to the Archer area, south of Rexburg.
Mike enjoyed spending time at his cabin near Bozeman, Montana on the Gallatin River. He also enjoyed kayaking, building with wood, and loved the outdoors, wildlife, and gardening. He loved scouting, helping the boys get their merit badges. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to the west coast.
He loved his grandchildren and spent as much time as he could with them. His children and grandchildren were his life. He loved serving others, and helping anyone in need. He had the kindest heart and enjoyed life. He will be greatly missed, We Love You!
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Glass of Archer, Idaho, his children; Jeremy (Kim) Glass, Tillman Glass, Christian (Clint) Staley, Kevin (Alayna) Glass all of Idaho Falls, Idaho, James (Chrissy) Glass of Rigby, Idaho, as well as 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his step father, James Sessums and his father-in-law Argus Clinger.
He is preceded in death by his mother Louise, his father James, and mother-in-law Maurice Clinger.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Rexburg South Stake Center, 2041 West 5200 South, Rexburg. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. both times at the stake center. Interment will be in the Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
