. Michael Arthur Murphy, 64 of Rexburg died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Madison Memorial Hospital. He was born in Eugene Oregon to Arthur and Virgina Murphy on April 4, 1951.
He had one older sister, Patty and four younger brothers, Dan, Tom, David and Frank.
He enjoyed fishing, swimming and wondering in the woods. There was never a day they weren't getting into some kind of trouble.
After graduating from Glide High School in Oregon, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served our country in Vietnam as a heavy equipment mechanic.
He later met the love of his life, Rosamond Clark and married her on February 2, 1973. They had three children, Mandy, Charity and Derrick. Michael was blessed with 4 granddaughters, 2 grandsons and 3 great granddaughters.
Michael enjoyed football, fishing but most of all he enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who where the apples of his eye.
He is survived by his wife Rosamond Murphy, his children Mandy (Jim) Couch, Charity (Mark) Wiley and Derrick Murphy, as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Patty Fugate, Tom Murphy, David Murphy, Dan Murphy and Frank Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Virginia Murphy.
A celebration of life will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the VFW Hall in Rexburg.
