On December 19, 1981 Mikayla Dawn Park was born at Madison Memorial Hospital to her parents Michael Appell and Kathy Ashley. She spent the first portion of her childhood in the Rexburg area, the next 7 year she spent living in between southern California and Rexburg Idaho.

She finished out her schooling at Madison junior high and high school. After high school she started working as a waitress/cook, later on achieving the manager position at Rexburg Pizza Hut. In the summer of 2001 she met the love of her life Don Ray Park and his two year old son Taygen Park instantly they fell in love. They got married on January 4 2002 surrounded by friends and family. They enjoyed spending time with friends and family and with each other.

In 2005 they were blessed with a new addition to their family, Ashlynn Park. Mikayla took on a whole new glow having a son and daughter in her life, there is nothing she loved more than her perfect sized family.

In 2013 Mikayla started working at East Idaho Credit Union where she got to continue to work with the public and make new friends along the way. No matter what was happening in her life Mikayla always made time for her friends and community.

As a family they spent most of their time outdoors doing activities together such as camping, floating, hunting, or riding. Mikayla always felt closer to God when she was in the mountains looking down on the rest of the world.

In 2020 she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, which changed the path of life for her and her family. It was hard for Mikayla to have people helping her but she fought gracefully with the friends and family by her side. She won the battle for a short period of time before it returned, without breaking her spirit she was ready to fight again. Unfortunately her body has taken too much of a beating, and couldn't keep up with her spirit and will to win for her family and herself.

The morning of December 17, 2021 at 2:15 am surrounded by her daughter and husband she passed away at home. Mikayla's spirit will forever live on with her family and the people that she touched around her.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the Burton West Chapel. Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, in Flamm Funeral Home and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Thursday, December 23, at the Burton West Chapel, prior to services.
