Rancher Mike Angell of Dirty Shame Ranch, St. Anthony, Idaho joined the Spirits of the Old West on Monday, June 13, 2016. He was born on April 4, 1948 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Ivan Pete and Norma Singleton Angell, also ranchers.

A cowboy to the core, Mike spent his life riding and breaking horses, ranching, raising two sons from previous marriages, participating in and attending rodeos, and proudly listening to his son Colt sing and perform music. Tourist and professional photographers were eager to capture Mike's weathered character. Mike entertained friends, family and folks from all walks of life with his well-timed stories and jokes for every occasion. Many spent memorable time with Mike on cattle rides, pack trips, Cowboy Poet gatherings, family reunions, and traveling. A creature of habit and hard work, Mike and Odie drank coffee every morning with long-time best friend Gaylene Blair and his close friends of the Early Morning Pool Gang, while Gaylene opened the Star Bar before Mike headed to work or other adventures.

In 1990 during the Fremont County Wagon ride, Mike fell head over "boots" in love with Cheryl Anne Mueller, a friend of his mother, Norma. Cheryl and Mike married August 18, 1998 on the ranch house porch.
Mike is survived by his wife, Cheryl Anne Mueller; a son, Colt; granddaughter Camille, and side-kick Odie, Mike's dog. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his son Clayton and his only sibling, Kip.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony, ID. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Wilford Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.flammfh.com.
