Mindy Jo Virgin, 52, of Sugar City, died at home surrounded by family and friends on January 16, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mindy was born March 12, 1956, to N. Delwin Virgin and Juddy Sue Stoddard Virgin in Rexburg, Idaho; the second of five children. She attended Sugar Salem schools and graduated in 1974.
Mindy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; serving in Primary, Young Women's, Relief Society, and as Girls Camp and Sports Directors.
Mindy was an enthusiastic participant in softball, bowling, golf, and 4-wheeling. She spent many happy hours in the outdoors and working in her beautiful yard. Mindy enjoyed her job at Beehive Federal Credit Union and was known for her ability to work with people and help them in any way she could. She loved her fellow employees and all of the members. Most of all she treasured time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her brother and sisters: Victoria Stoddard, Kevin (Nikki) Virgin, Karin (Trent) Angell and Eva (Curt) Stanley, all of Sugar City.
She is also survived by three nephews: Neil (Elysianna) Ashcraft, Kade (Jodee) Virgin, and Kolten Virgin. Four nieces: Jennifer Sainsbury, Misty (Brindley) Hansen, McKall Angell, Whitnee (Ren) Walker and nine great-nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2009, at 11.a.m. in the Sugar City Stake Center with Bishop John Hymas officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:30 to 9.p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and at the Sugar City Stake Center from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
